The Macallan A Night on Earth (70cl, 43%)

A single malt from Macallan, released as the A Night on Earth edition and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The packaging was designed by the artist Erica Dorn and draws on the fire rituals often performed on New Year's Eve. The nose is of melted butter, baked apples, fresh shortbread, juicy plums, crisp almonds and a little vanilla. On the palate come buttery shortbread, vanilla custard, toasted marshmallows, dried oranges, soft figs and a pinch of cinnamon. The finish recalls butterscotch over freshly baked butter biscuits.
