This is a Speyside single malt from Macallan, bottled in 2016 at a cask strength of 57% in a 70cl bottle. It was launched at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to mark the opening of the distillery's first standalone retail boutique.
The strength is meant to echo the high-strength drams traditionally kept for VIP guests at the Easter Elchies estate. It was matured in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks.
It is described as concentrated and oily in texture, with sweet dried fruits, dark plum and creamy vanilla, alongside warming ginger and cinnamon spice.
