The Macallan – Classic Cut 2018 Edition (70cl, 51.2%)

This is The Macallan Classic Cut 2018 Edition, a cask strength single malt from Speyside in a 70cl bottle at 51.2% vol. It is the second release in a limited annual series. The whisky was matured in sherry oak casks. Whisky maker Ian Morrison chose the strength as the one that best brings out a dominant sweetness and the balanced flavours from those casks. Letting the whisky breathe for 10 to 15 minutes before drinking is recommended. Once it has opened up, it shows citrus, sweet vanilla and spice, followed by a long, dry oak finish.
