The Macallan Classic Cut 2024 is the eighth release in an annual limited edition series that began in 2017. It is a Speyside single malt matured in sherry-seasoned European oak and ex-bourbon American oak casks, bottled at 52.4% (104.8 proof) in a 750ml bottle, with natural colour.
Each Classic Cut is bottled at the strength chosen by the Whisky Mastery Team. This edition is built around rich vanilla at full strength, and a few drops of water bring forward tropical fruit and lemon.
The nose is described as rich vanilla, citrus peel, sweet oak, orchard fruits, marzipan and fresh herbs. On the palate come baked custard, sweet green apple, milk chocolate, vanilla and balanced oak spice, and the finish is long, rich and sweet.
