The Macallan Double Cask 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle at 43% abv, from the 2020 release. It was matured for 18 years in a combination of American and European sherry-seasoned oak casks.
The European oak brings spice and dried fruit, while the American oak adds sweeter vanilla and honeyed notes. The whisky has a deep amber honey colour.
The nose offers dried fruits, sultanas, vanilla and warming spice. On the palate come treacle toffee, caramel, sweet ginger and raisins, followed by a long, warming finish of dried fruit, spice and gentle citrus.
