The Macallan Fine Oak 17 Year Old is a single malt matured for 17 years in a triple cask combination of European oak sherry casks, American oak sherry casks and American oak bourbon casks. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
The mix of casks gives a balance of richness, sweetness and gentle spice, and the expression shows a lighter, more nuanced side of Macallan than the sherry oak releases.
The nose has vanilla, citrus zest, dried fruit, honey and light oak. The palate offers soft malt sweetness, toffee, orange peel, gentle spice and toasted wood, and the medium-long finish is smooth, with lingering sweetness and subtle oak.
