The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea is a Speyside single malt, the fifth release in an annual limited edition series, made in collaboration with the tea house JING. It is bottled at 43.9% abv in a 750ml bottle, with natural colour.
The inspiration is Phoenix Honey Orchid, an oolong grown in the Phoenix Mountain range of Guangdong, China. The whisky is mainly matured in sherry-seasoned American oak, with sherry-seasoned European oak and some ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is floral, with peach, apricot, floral honey and tropical fruit. The palate brings peaches in syrup, warm citrus and toffee, with a light leafy astringency. The finish is long and fruity, with soft oak and a gentle tea-leaf dryness.
