The Macallan Quest is the opening expression in the Quest Collection, a range created for global travel retail around the distillery's search for fine oak casks. It is a single malt in a 700ml bottle, at 40% ABV and natural colour.
It is matured in four types of hand picked cask: sherry seasoned European oak, sherry seasoned American oak, American ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads. Together they give a lighter, brighter Macallan than the Sherry Oak range.
Pale gold in the glass, it has soft citrus, lemon zest and sweet apple on the nose, with vanilla and light oak. The palate is fresh and lively, with apple, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon over light caramel, and the finish is soft, sweet and gently fruity.
