The Macallan Rare Cask Red 2020 is a Speyside single malt in a 700ml bottle at 43% abv.
Its colour is a very dark clay-red amber, unusually deep for Scotch whisky, and the character is sherry-driven.
The nose is elegant and silky, with raisins and citrus and subtler cocoa and nuts. On the palate it is full-bodied yet silky, with the dried-fruit sweetness of raisins and apricots, alongside oak, chocolate and vanilla.
