The Macallan Rare Cask Red is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 43% abv in a 70cl bottle. Its colour is a very dark clay-red amber, unusually deep for a Scotch.
The nose is silky and rich, with raisins and citrus and quieter notes of cocoa and nuts. On the palate it is full-bodied yet silky, with sherry-driven dried fruit sweetness, such as raisins and apricots, alongside oak, chocolate and vanilla.
