The Macallan Sherry Oak 25 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Spanish and American sherry casks, which give it a rich mahogany colour.
The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824, and its small copper stills take only 16% of the final distillation.
The nose is sweet, with citrus, orange zest, a hint of cinnamon and the impression of an open wood fire. The palate carries a distinct sweetness from the sherry casks.
