This is The Macallan Sherry Oak 25 Year Old, a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 43% and sold in a 70cl bottle. It comes in an oak box.
It was matured in Spanish and American sherry casks, which give it a rich mahogany colour. The Macallan was established in 1824 and uses small copper stills, taking only 16% of the final distillation.
The nose is sweet, with orange zest, a hint of cinnamon and the impression of an open wood fire. The palate carries the same sweetness from the sherry casks.
