This is a Speyside single malt from The Macallan, released as a collaboration with the British artist Sir Peter Blake, creator of the sleeve artwork for The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Blake visited the Easter Elchies estate and made an original artwork of the distillery's people and community, which wraps the bottle as a panoramic label. The whisky is of natural colour, bottled at 47.7% (95.4 proof), and matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. It comes in a navy blue box with green suede lining, with a signed scroll and an individual bottle number.
The nose brings ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, dried apricot and cinnamon over gentle sherry sweetness. The palate is full and rounded, with toffee apple, dried fruit, ginger and toasted oak.
