The Maltman Blend 22 Year Old Caol Ila & North British (70cl, 45.9%)

This is a 22 year old blended Scotch that combines Caol Ila single malt with North British single grain whisky. It matured for 22 years in a single cask and was bottled by Meadowside Blending in its The Maltman series, at 45.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn is 453 bottles. The nose is coastal, with sea notes and a hint of lemon sorbet sweets. The palate is full and velvety, with sugared almonds, subtle smoke, caramel, toasted oats and marzipan. The finish is long and gentle, with salted caramel and peppery warmth.
