The Senator Gold Wax Edition is a straight rye whiskey made in the USA, bottled from barrel number 302 at barrel proof, 106.38 proof. It was distilled and aged for a minimum of 6 years in new charred oak barrels, then bottled by Proof & Wood Ventures in Kentucky.
The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey is bottled at full strength to show the bold rye flavours.
The palate is nutty, with toffee, orange peel, herbs and light tobacco. Chocolate brownies and blackberry come through with water.
