A 39 year old Speyside single malt from The Singleton of Glen Ord, bottled at 46.2% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Only 1,695 bottles were released worldwide.
It is based on a 12 year old whisky that was moved into casks that had held port, red wine, Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry, then finished in French Bordeaux casks.
The nose is mellow and complex, with fruit cake, orange peel, raisins and toasted almonds. The palate is rich and deep, with blackberries and muscovado sugar. The finish is very long, fruity and warm.
