The Singleton of Glen Ord 40 Year Old is a Scotch single malt bottled at 45.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is the final release in The Epicurean Odyssey Series.
The whisky began as a 12 year old and was moved into rum casks for a secondary maturation of 28 years. The Malt Master then married these whiskies in Solera casks of Zacapa XO and Royal Rum.
The nose has plums in dark chocolate, sage, sweetly spicy oak and hard toffee. The palate is smooth and lightly waxy, with pear, caramelised tropical fruit and black pepper, and the finish is quite long with a hint of waxy smoke.
