The Six Isles Rum Cask Finish Limited Release (48%)

This is a blended malt from The Six Isles, made by Ian MacLeod, owner of the Glengoyne distillery. It combines whiskies from six Scottish islands: Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Orkney and Arran. This limited release spent many months in Caribbean rum casks and is bottled at 48%, without colouring or chill-filtering. It is pale straw in colour. The nose is lively, earthy and peppery, with vanilla, banana, porridge, nuts, peat and a hint of citrus. The palate is full and oily, peaty, with spice, oak and lime. The finish is creamy, with gentle smoke and a pleasant sweetness.
