The Tweeddale Grain of Truth Peated Edition is a blended grain Scotch whisky built on a high proportion of single grain whisky from a single distillery, finished in Islay casks. It is bottled at 46%, without chill filtration or added colour.
The recipe is inspired by an 1899 family original. The Tweeddale brand was revived by Alasdair Day, working from his great-grandfather's whisky blending notebooks.
The nose is gently smoky, with campfire ash, toasted marshmallow and green apple over soft vanilla. The palate is creamy, with honeycomb, charred oak, salted caramel and roasted grain. The finish is mellow, with peat smoke, oat biscuit and sweet spice.
