The Tyrconnell Madeira Cask Finish is a 10 year old Irish single malt from the north-east of the Republic of Ireland, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Unlike most Irish distilleries, Tyrconnell distils its malt twice, and this one matured first in bourbon casks before a finish in Madeira.
The nose is fruity and darkly sweet, with raisins and jam. The palate is full and balanced, with red fruit, dark apricot jam, honey and a hint of caramelised apple. The finish is light and spicy, with a little caramel in the background.
