The Whisky Cellar Series 3 Strathclyde 22 Year Old (70cl, 55.2%)

This is a 22 year old single grain whisky from Strathclyde, bottled at 55.2% in a 70cl bottle as part of The Whisky Cellar Series 3. It was distilled in October 1998 and bottled in August 2021, after finishing in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. The outturn is 253 bottles. The colour is deep amber. The nose has polished oak, caramel shortbread and ripe red forest fruits. On the palate come redcurrant jam, spearmint toffees, lychee and salted caramel. The finish is long, with a touch of spice and a tang from the red fruits.
