The Whistler Imperial Stout Cask Finish (43%)

A triple-distilled Irish blend of malt and grain whiskeys, bottled at 43% in a special edition of 3000 bottles. It is natural in colour and non-chill-filtered. The whiskey first matured in ex-bourbon casks. It was then finished in former sherry casks that had been seasoned with Irish stout, an unusual route to its final character. The Whistler is a project of the Cooney family, who converted a former car showroom in County Meath into the Boann Distillery. The nose offers apple drops, fresh citrus peel and creamy toffee with banana, apricot, melon and raspberry. Sweet peach leads on the palate, with pear, citrus zest, malt and creamy vanilla. The finish is long and creamy, with pear and citrus peel.
