The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun Mulberrytree Wood Finish (50cl, 57.1%)

A single cask Irish single malt from Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, triple distilled in May 2017 and matured for five years in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask. In February 2023 the whiskey was divided among five custom-made 50-litre casks, each of a different wood, for the first series from The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun. This one spent twelve months in mulberry wood and was bottled in February 2024 at 57.1%, at a total age of 6 years and 9 months, in 90 bottles of 50cl. It is non-chill-filtered and uncoloured. The nose shows walnut shell, tobacco and milk chocolate, with wood tones of an old wardrobe and sauna timber. The palate has vanilla chocolate pudding with nuts, fresh tobacco and chocolate. The finish is dry and sweet, with a mild nutty note.
