The Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is a no age statement single malt from the Yamazaki Distillery in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
It is vatted from whiskies matured in American oak, Spanish sherry oak, Japanese Mizunara oak and French Bordeaux wine casks, with a touch of peated malt. The Bordeaux casks give the expression its red berry character.
On the nose there are red berries, floral hints, sandalwood and coconut. The palate is fruity, with dried berries, white peach, honey and gentle spice, and the finish is medium in length with vanilla and cinnamon.
