Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye is a Kentucky rye from Buffalo Trace, part of the 2018 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is named in honour of the New Orleans bartender who redefined the Sazerac cocktail.
It was distilled in spring 2012 from Minnesota rye, corn and malted barley, then matured for over six years in 73 charred American white oak barrels. It was bottled in 2018 at a cask strength of 64.4% in a 750ml bottle.
It is described as showing cracked pepper, floral notes and baking spices.
