Thomas S. Moore Chardonnay Cask Finish is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 48.95% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is made from the distillery's high-rye recipe and aged for many years in new charred oak. It then spends a further period in Chardonnay wine casks, measured in additional years rather than the usual months. It is one of the three original Thomas S. Moore extended cask finishes, launched in December 2020.
The producer describes a rich taste of citrus, tropical fruit and buttery oak, with the white-wine cask sitting over the natural spice of the high-rye bourbon.
