This is a single cask New Zealand single malt from Thomson, a small craft distillery run by Mathew and Rachael Thomson since 2014. Quercus Alba Manuka Smoke is cask number 23.
The distillery makes its whisky from regional ingredients, with smoke from South Island peat or manuka wood. For this bottling, a virgin American oak cask was heavily charred before it was filled with Manuka Smoke single malt.
The notes are vanilla, black tea, clove and honeyed manuka oils.
