Togouchi 15 Year Old

Togouchi 15 Year Old is a blended Japanese whisky created by Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, formerly Chugoku Jozo. It combines a malt whisky with a well-balanced peat aroma and a soft sweetness of vanilla and chocolate with a grain whisky carrying citrus notes and a light flavour. Much of the Togouchi whisky is aged in an old railway tunnel below the streets of Hiroshima, which stays cool whatever the season. The nose offers soft pastry dusted with cinnamon, pear and hints of dried earth. The palate brings nutty malt, milk chocolate and caraway, ending on peppercorn, vanilla and a lingering peatiness.
