Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is a Japanese blended whisky made by Chugoku Jozo, a company near Hiroshima that has distilled since 1918, mainly sake and shochu. It began making whisky in 1990 at the Sakurao distillery.
This edition was put together from just 36 casks. The final maturation took place in oak that first held Martinique rum in the French Caribbean and then IPA beer in France, which brings hop and honey notes.
The nose is lightly peaty, with sweet honey, nuts and cornflakes. The palate is light and delicate, with hops, honey and a touch of peat.
