Togouchi Japanese Whisky 15 Year Old (70cl, 43.8%)

Togouchi Japanese Whisky 15 Year Old is a blended whisky from Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, formerly Chugoku Jozo, in a 70cl bottle at 43.8% ABV. It is aged, blended and diluted in Japan, using casks imported from Scotland and Canada. The casks mature in a tunnel 361 metres long, dug in 1970, where the temperature stays at 14°C and the humidity at 80%. The water used to reduce the strength comes from the Sandankyo natural park. The nose is delicate, with citrus and yellow fruits and some spice. Vanilla sweetness and a little peat and iodine come through on the palate, and the finish brings dark chocolate and hazelnut.
