First fill oloroso sherry hogshead
A 10-year-old Highland single malt from Tomatin, distilled in 2011 and matured in a single first fill oloroso sherry hogshead before bottling in June 2021 at 56.4%. It is one of 276 numbered bottles in a 70cl size, with label illustrations by Jamie Coe. The name refers to Apollo 12. After its launch on 14 November 1969 the Saturn V rocket was struck by lightning twice, and engineer John Aaron suggested switching the Signal Conditioning Electronics to auxiliary. The nose offers vanilla fudge, leather, cinnamon, cloves, honeycomb, orange zest, mango and stewed apples. The palate brings toasted fruit loaf, black grapes, creme caramel and roasted coffee beans, and the finish is soft, dry and sweet, with cocoa, a hint of smoke and citrus.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
