Tomintoul 14 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. It was matured mainly in ex-bourbon casks of American oak and bottled at 46%, a strength that gives the distillery's style a little more weight.
The nose is sugared roasted almonds, creme brulee with a touch of vanilla, barley sugar and lemon curd. The palate is creamy and full, with ripe pears and apples, cinnamon pastry, oat biscuits and light ginger spice from the bourbon casks. The finish is long, creamy and soft, with roasted hazelnuts, mocha and gentle oak spice.
