Tomintoul 15 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt distilled in 2008. It matured first in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then spent time in Madeira wine casks chosen by Master Distiller Robert Fleming from Portugal's Madeira Islands.
It is bottled at 46% ABV, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The release is limited to 6,654 individually numbered bottles.
The tasting notes describe butterscotch, maple syrup and brambles on the nose, with ground coffee and dark chocolate. The palate brings chocolate-covered raisins, stewed plums, candied peel and tiramisu, alongside liquorice, treacle toffee and peppery oak. The finish is toasted nuts, espresso and cacao with dark fruits, fennel and ginger.
