A 15 year old Speyside single malt from Tomintoul, in a 70cl bottle at 46%. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023, after maturation in ex-bourbon American oak followed by a finish in Madeira wine casks. The edition is 6,654 numbered bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered and free of added colour.
Master Distiller Robert Fleming chose the Madeira casks, which came from the Portuguese islands of Madeira. Their influence brings pronounced fruit to the malt.
The nose combines butterscotch, maple syrup and blackberries with ground coffee and dark chocolate. The palate is juicy, with chocolate-covered raisins, stewed plums, candied peel and tiramisu. The finish brings roasted nuts, espresso and cocoa.
