This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Tomintoul, distilled in 2008. It matured first in ex-bourbon casks and then received a finish in Madeira casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The release is limited to 6,654 bottles.
The nose is sweet caramel and maple syrup with juicy blackberries, ground coffee and dark chocolate. The palate offers chocolate raisins, stewed plums, candied peel and creamy tiramisu, with liquorice, syrupy sweets and peppery oak. The finish is long, with roasted nuts, espresso and cocoa, then dark fruit and fennel and ginger spice.
