Tomintoul – 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

This is a 25 year old single malt from Tomintoul in Speyside, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery describes its style as 'The Gentle Dram', and this expression spent a quarter of a century in oak. Tomintoul Distillery sits in the Cairngorms National Park and was founded in 1964. Its water comes from the Ballantruan Spring. The nose is honeyed fruit, warm oak, roasted nuts and soft vanilla, with dried apricot. On the palate come toffee, fig, spice and gentle malt. The finish is long and warm, with sweet oak, dried fruit and a touch of spice.
