Tomintoul Amarone Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. After its first maturation in oak casks, it is finished in casks that previously held Amarone della Valpolicella, the Italian red wine.
The time in these casks adds depth and intense fruit to the classic Speyside style.
The nose offers ripe red berries, cherries and plums with vanilla, chocolate and a light spice. The palate is soft and rounded, with black fruit, raisins, caramel and cocoa against a little oak and sweet spice. The finish is medium to long and silky, with ripe fruit, chocolate and a faint winey note.
