Old Ballantruan 15 Years Peated is a 15-year-old peated single malt from Tomintoul in Speyside. It takes its name from the Ballantruan Springs, set near the Cromdale Hills at Tomintoul, the highest village in the Scottish Highlands.
The colour is warm gold. The nose combines gentle peat smoke and gunpowder with the fruity sweetness of nectarines, a trace of sherry, roasted chestnuts and a hint of heather. On the palate it is soft and full, with plenty of smoke and a light sweetness of toffee and honey, turning spicier with oak and pepper. The finish is balanced, with soft smoke, old leather and runny honey.
