Tomintoul Seiridh is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% ABV. It matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then was finished in ex-Oloroso sherry butts from Jerez in Andalusia, Spain.
The name is the Gaelic word for sherry, pronounced sheh-ree. Batch 1 was bottled as 6,000 bottles, each one numbered.
The nose is full and inviting, with sultanas, butterscotch and candied pecans. The palate is sweet and rich, with dried figs and Christmas cake. The finish is warm, nutty and long.
