This is a 31 year old Tormore single malt from Speyside, bottled as Edition No.33 for Whisky Sponge. It comes from the personal family reserves of the Whisky Sponge official taster and is a marriage of two first fill barrels filled in 1990.
It is bottled at 53%, a strength chosen because it was felt to show the whisky's maximum fruit.
The nose is rich and creamy, with sweetness from the barley and cask, ripe green and exotic fruits and softer spice, like a fruit salad. The palate is mouth-filling and naturally sweet, with juicy mango, dried papaya, lemon jelly and light olive oil notes.
