A 31 year old Speyside single malt from Tormore, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2022 at 56.1% ABV by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice series. It was matured in a single second fill sherry butt, number 15381, which yielded 518 bottles.
The series is known for bottling individually selected casks to show distillery character and cask influence.
The tasting notes describe raisin, dark treacle, beeswax polish and clove on the nose, then fruitcake, milk chocolate and orange zest on the palate. The finish is full bodied, with aniseed and charred oak.
