Trail's End is an eight-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Hood River Distillers, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was made in Kentucky and finished with Oregon oak staves. The mashbill is corn, malted barley and about 10% rye, and the bourbon was released in 2018.
The nose is floral, with honeysuckle, apricot, spearmint and orange blossom beside roasted hazelnut. The palate opens with sweet malt and chocolate, then toasted hazelnut, tobacco and a touch of rye. The finish is long and warm, oily and buttery, with malty spice and a slight char.
