Traverse City Whisky Co. Barrel Proof is a straight bourbon bottled at full barrel strength, 58.34% (116.68 proof), without being cut. It is a limited edition release, drawn from barrels the distillery reserved as its most flavourful.
The nose is pecan pie drizzled with caramel. The palate is sweet at first, then dries to espresso, dark chocolate, burnt orange peel and black pepper. A little water lightens it and brings out a walnut note on the long finish.
