Tullamore Dew Original is a blended Irish whiskey, triple distilled and aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
The blend draws on grain whiskey for its floral, biscuit character, pot still whiskey for soft spice, and malt to complement the citrus. The sherry and bourbon casks add a nutty, even marzipan note with vanilla.
The nose is light and sweet, with citrus, green apple and vanilla. Fresh fruit leads on the palate, then a light spiciness and toasted wood, ending in vanilla sweetness. The finish is almost buttery and mellow.
