Brown Sugar is a Scottish blended whisky from Turntable Spirits' Track series, put together by the independent blenders Gordon and Alasdair Stevenson. It is bottled at a cask strength of 52.5%, without colouring or chill filtration.
The blend combines peated Ledaig from a sherry puncheon with Tamdhu and Loch Lomond from first-fill bourbon barrels, Tullibardine from virgin oak and Strathclyde grain. After about two years of maturation it spent a little over 20 months in Moscatel barriques.
The nose is rich and smoky with maritime notes, dark tobacco, cinnamon biscuits and ripe orchard fruit. The palate is soft and oily, with ripe peach, brown sugar and toasted oak, and the finish is long, spicy and smoky.
