The Ghost of Guyana is the second release in Uisge Mòr's Cawdor Collection. It is an 11 year old Royal Brackla single malt, bottled at 56.63% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in a refill sherry butt, then re-racked into a rum octave that held Uitvlugt rum. The Guyanese Uitvlugt distillery closed in 1999. Only 83 bottles were filled.
The nose combines dark dried fruit, worn leather, sun-dried sugarcane and overripe tropical fruit with a subtle smoky warmth. The palate brings dark fruit, treacle, mango and gentle coconut, and the long finish carries molasses, dried orange peel and woody spice.
