Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Valpantena DOCG Costa Arente

A red wine from the Valpantena valley in Veneto, made using the Ripasso process. A second fermentation on the pomace of Amarone and Recioto intensifies aroma, complexity, body and ageing potential. It has a deep ruby red colour. The nose shows mature red fruit such as cherries and plums, black pepper, and light tobacco and chocolate notes from wood ageing. On the palate it is robust and elegant, with soft, well-integrated tannins and a persistent finish. Serve at 16-18°C with roast or braised red meats and aged cheeses.
