Veuve Goudoulin Bas Armagnac 2003 (70cl)

This is a 2003 Bas Armagnac from Veuve Goudoulin, made from Baco Noir and Ugni Blanc. It comes from a selection of old single vintages, matured in French oak barrels, and is distilled in the continuous Armagnac still, a method that gives fine, elegant spirits. On the nose it is aromatic and fruity, with vanilla, quince and flat peaches, and the same flavours carry through on the palate with good persistence. It suits an after-dinner glass for sipping, or a pairing with bitter chocolate desserts and vanilla-spiced sweets.
