Vor Barrel Aged Gin (50cl, 47%)

Vor Barrel Aged Gin is an Icelandic gin from the small Eimverk Distillery. Everything in it is local: the base spirit is distilled from malted barley, and the botanicals include juniper, kale, rhubarb, seaweed, Icelandic lichen and crowberries. After distillation the gin rests for about two months in new American oak casks, which gives it a light golden tinge. It is bottled at 47% and works neat or in cocktails. On the nose there are toasted malt, honey, juniper and a hint of distant smoke. The palate pairs juniper freshness with fresh-baked bread, pepper and oak.
