Vor is a gin from Eimverk Distillery in Iceland, bottled at 47% vol in a 50cl bottle. Everything in it is local, from the barley malt that forms the base spirit to the botanicals.
Besides plenty of juniper, the botanicals include kale, rhubarb, seaweed, Icelandic moss and crowberries. Eimverk was founded in 2009 and works only with local ingredients.
The nose is big and malty, with plenty of juniper and floral notes. The palate has good body and complexity, keeping a thick, malty feel, with liquorice root, juniper and citrus. It can be drunk neat, with tonic or in cocktails.
